The Big Switch Companion App

The Big Switch Companion App is now ready for download in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store 🙂 Just search “The Big Switch” and it should appear.

While the App is not needed to play the game, it adds to the experience with…

…a customizable Timer with a count-in!

The Timer comes with a 3-second count-in that shouts “Ready! Set! Go!” This feature gives everyone (especially the player who activated the Timer) enough time to prepare for the auction.

You can also adjust the timer in the App between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the difficulty level of your playgroup.

…harder game modes!

With the app, you can toggle two different game mutators that makes the game much more challenging.

Surprise Timeout

With Surprise Timeout activated, the timer will end randomly in the last 5 seconds! Players can no longer rely on last second plays to outbid their opponents.

Surprise Habits

With Surprise Habits activated, players can’t do their habits until the timer says so!

This prompt happens randomly between the last 5-10 seconds. With this mutator activated, you’ll have to manage your time better since you can’t get the Habits out of the way early in the round.

Why not both?

For those who really want a challenge, you can activate both mutators at the same time! You can even reduce the timer to 10 seconds with both modes on (if you’re really that confident in your bidding and tile-flipping abilities).

…reminders for the Setup and Phases of the game!

If you click the Setup button or toggle the game to Full mode, the game will show a step-by-step guide on how to play the game.

Use this when playing with new players or if you need to brush up on the rules of the game.

If you have tried the game, stop by anyway 🙂 You probably haven’t tried the harder game modes so try and give those a whirl.

As for Dec 3 and 4, we will be setting up Facebook events as the dates get closer. You don’t need to mark that you’re going to try the game since we will be demo-ing to everyone there but it will help us know how many people we can expect.
